Truth About Christianity
Too many loud voices say that Christians are promoters of hate.
We are misunderstood for many reasons.
- We believe in Absolute Truth.
- False teachers out for money and power.
- Name only Christians. i.e. Sunday bench warmers.
- Silence when we should speak.
- True Christians hold the Bible as the sufficient rule of faith and practice. This means that we use scripture as a guide of what God has already said to judge what is true and right.
- True Christians realize that they are lost without the grace (love) of God.
- True Christians will trust in God's power to help them love everyone, including the sinner, and those that abuse the Christian. We believe that everyone will be judged by God. Based on that, the loving thing is to tell the world what God requires of us in life, so that judgment does not result in eternal separation from God.
- True Christians will seek to communicate the Truth in love. We are not to condemn others; only point to the truth of what God has said and done in scripture and through the life of Jesus Christ.
- True Christians take their beliefs everywhere. They need not be spoken, but should be evident to others in the way one lives and acts.
- True Christians know that we are not here by accident, but that God has a purpose for us.
- True Christians know that Satan is out to deceive anyone he can.
- True Christians know that Satan is not under ever rock or behind every bush waiting to "get us". He is not everywhere, or all powerful.
Things to Ponder:
- If there is no ultimate truth, then laws are a joke, and there is no basis for ethics or morals, other than cooperation to make everyone's life easier.
- If you believe it is wrong for someone to impose their values on another person, how can you ever tell anyone that they are wrong?
- If abortion of inconvenient babies is okay, then why not kill anyone who inconveniences us?
- If there is no sin, then why do people do such horrible things to each other?
- If it is politically correct to bash Christians publicly, why isn't it PC to bash other religious groups?
- If there is no Hell, do you expect to see Hitler in Heaven?
- If there is no life after death, why do people do self-destructive things, instead of enjoying every moment of life they have?
- If the Bible is just an old, outdated book, with no bearing on today; why do those who try to disprove it in part or in whole have to jump through such incredible hoops to make their point?
- If life without God is so great, why do so many drink or do drugs to try to forget their problems?
- If people have such low self-esteem, why do they even want to improve their self-esteem?
- If being a Mason is so great, why is it a secret group?
- If you believe in evolution and survival of the fittest, why do you object to your own extinction at the hands of another?
- If the Dalai Lama is a god, why did he let the Chinese take over Tibet?
- If the Mormon church is just another Christian denomination, then why does the Book of Mormon call other Churches devil spawn? (book of nehai?)
- If the Book of Mormon is just as true as the Bible, why can archaeologists find places mentioned in the Bible, but absolutely no trace of places mentioned in the Book of Mormon?
- If the Book of Mormon is just true as the Bible, why is the test of its veracity the "burning in one's bosom", and not that it is divine rather than human in origin as attested to by the manuscript, archaeological, prophetic, and statistical evidence for the Bible.
- If Wiccans have true powers for good, why is there still war, disease, and famine?
- If you want a baby and are pregnant, why is it called a baby, and if you do not want a baby, why is it called something else?
- If doing your own thing is so great, why are so many people so unhappy?
- If character does not matter, then why not let Bill Clinton date your daughter?
- If same-sex sexual relations are permissible, then what kind of sexual relations are not permissible, and on what basis?
- If Buddhists are right and pain and suffering are illusions, why do you object to getting punched in the nose?
- If we are masters of our own destiny, why don't things always go our way?
- If you think Christianity is a joke, then why have you read this far?
